In March, the Council co-hosted the National Commission on Innovation and Competitiveness Frontiers Phase 2 Launch Summit. Council President and CEO joined a distinguished panel at the 2023 annual meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) to frame a proactive and positive bilateral engagement model between the United States and Japan to tackle a range of innovation, security, sustainability and economic challenges facing the world. The Council on Competitiveness will also co-host with Queen’s University Belfast on April 16th-19th, the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday/Belfast agreement. The event in April will reflect on the achievements, legacies, and implications of the 1998 agreement – with the Council leading the major session “looking forward” to the future productivity and inclusive prosperity in Northern Ireland and Ireland.
