On July 12, 2023, members of the Council on Competitiveness Board and Executive Committee, and Commissioners and Advisors from the National Commission on Innovation and Competitiveness Frontiers came together at Gallup World Headquarters to take stock of the Council’s work and explore the challenges and opportunities driving Phase 2 of the National Commission’s work. The assembled leaders represented U.S. businesses, universities, the National Academies, and U.S. national laboratories. Special guests addressed the gathering including United States Senator Martin Heinrich; Dr. Dietra Trent, Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Advanced Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities; and Dr. Charles Tahan, Director of the National Quantum Coordination Office at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
