As Cargill’s Process Innovation leader, Steve Marshall leads a group of global R&D professionals focused on creating value by converting fundamental science and engineering into real world innovative solutions. A key focus area of his team is to apply engineering fundamentals and rapidly advancing AI data and analytics technologies to advance and optimize Cargill businesses, working to create more sustainable and secure food supply chains.

Steve spent the last 30 years focused on innovating across Cargill’s global manufacturing supply chain for food and bio-industrial products. He has held a variety of positions across multiple geographies in engineering, operations management, and research and development - with a strong focus in industrial scale fermentation processes.
