“Your hard work has made Colorado more innovative, more collaborative, and more competitive.”
The Hon. John Hickenlooper
United States Senator
Kicking off the second day of the Mountain West Competitiveness Conversation via video, United States Senator the Hon. John Hickenlooper reflected on his time as Colorado’s governor, highlighting his administration’s efforts to support entrepreneurs and grow the diversity of the state’s economy. Now, with the support of the CHIPS and Science Act, those efforts can expand further today than ever before, including through new $75 million semiconductor manufacturing facilities being built in Colorado Springs to help ensure the supply chain disruptions are never repeated.
He also praised the work of Elevate Quantum and the Colorado-Wyoming Climate Resilience Engine as critical to the Mountain West’s future. Elevate Quantum is working to make Colorado the “Silicon Valley of Quantum,” while the Colorado-Wyoming Climate Resilience Engine is preparing to lead in tackling pollution, wildfires, and other environmental challenges. Together, these innovators are building tomorrow’s Mountain West economy into the future.
