Barbara Kates-Garnick is currently a professor of practice at the Fletcher School and Special Advisor to Tisch College at Tufts University. She has had an extensive career in the private sector and in state government in energy policy. She has served as undersecretary of energy and as a commissioner at the Department of Public Utilities for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has been a senior utility executive, a consultant on a wide range of energy policy issues, and advised major decision makers on infrastructure projects, including on Offshore Wind. She has participated on both non-profit and for-profit boards, including Resources for the Future (RFF), the BEES Board of the NAS, and PowerOptions.
