Gunjan’s pioneering spirit began in 1995, leading him to found WhoWhere?, one of the earliest internet search engines, predating Google. Acquired by Lycos in 1998, WhoWhere? became a landmark in internet innovation. Gunjan also co-founded eGain (NASDAQ: EGAN), a leading AI-powered knowledge management platform, where he continues to serve on the Board of Directors 

As Founder & Chairman of OpenGrowth Ventures, Gunjan actively fosters innovation through a venture studio that nurtures startups in the AI, technology, and cybersecurity sectors. His investments have spanned across Silicon Valley, advising, and guiding numerous successful ventures that contribute to the innovation economy. Gunjan has also been an active investor and advisor to numerous leading Venture Firms and participated in numerous Board, investor and advisory roles for leading private equity, venture capital and startup innovations over his last three decades of active career. To foster innovation and commercialization of science and technology for US and India, Gunjan has also served as a founding board member of the US India Endowment Fund - started by the US State Department along with the Office of Science and Technology at the White House.
