Lieutenant General (Retired) John Evans is a widely accomplished senior executive whose leadership skills were developed and refined during 36 years of Army service. He currently serves as President/CEO of Evans Strategic Solutions, a consulting firm in San Antonio. John commanded at every level in the Army from Company Commander to Theater Army Commanding General. He honed his operational skills as a pilot in the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment where he spent over 14 years culminating as the 13th Commander of the Regiment. John served multiple combat deployments to the Middle East during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Inherent Resolve. In addition to his considerable operational experience, LTG Evans served as the commanding general of United States Army Cadet Command where he supervised over 975 senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs at America’s colleges and universities while simultaneously administering 1700 junior ROTC programs at America’s high schools. John spent the last 8 ½ years of his military career in general officer command culminating as the commanding general of United States Army North (Fifth Army) at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Appalachian State University, and Master’s degrees from Kansas State University and the United States Naval War College in Education and National Security respectively. He holds a Certificate in Public Leadership from the Olin School of Business, Washington University, and served as a resident Federal Executive Fellow at the esteemed Brookings Institution in Washington DC. He is married and has two daughters
