Mike Freeman has spent the last 30 years of his career at the intersection of entrepreneurship, venture capital, and economic development in the public, private and non-profit sectors.   

Over the last decade, Mike has been the CEO of Innosphere Ventures, where he’s worked with thousands of startup founders in high-tech sectors, providing them with business support around technology commercialization and venture capital.   

Most recently, Mike led a collaborative team focused on driving innovation in climate resiliency and sustainability to secure initial funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF). He and his team’s extremely dedicated efforts enabled the launch of The Colorado-Wyoming Climate Resilience Engine (CO-WY Engine), where he serves as the CEO.  

The CO-WY Engine and Innosphere Ventures are seeking to produce large-scale technology-based economic growth in our region and beyond. Mike led two successful programs to grow the life sciences and climate tech sectors; securing $2M in funding from the US Economic Development Administration and a $160M inaugural program from the NSF, the CO-WY Engine.   

Mike is a General Partner of two early-stage venture capital funds: the Innosphere Fund I and II, and was formerly a GP in the Israel-Colorado Innovation Fund.  

Mike served in numerous executive roles in the public, private, and non-profit/venture capital sectors. Mike currently serves on five private company boards.
