Rebecca Jackson serves as Senior Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Sandia National Laboratories, where she provides strategic legal guidance on privacy, information law, AI, and security matters. With a robust background in regulatory compliance, Rebecca advises management on achieving organizational goals while mitigating legal risks. She is responsible for overseeing compliance with state and federal privacy regulations, and regularly collaborates with stakeholders across the NNSA complex to enhance data and AI governance, information protection, and incident response strategies.

Previously, Rebecca held legal roles within New Mexico state government, including the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration, where she managed litigation, advised on procurement and contract law, and supervised the legal team. She began her legal career as an Associate Attorney at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP, where she focused on public finance and municipal bond transactions and was recognized for her dedication to pro bono work.

A graduate of the University of Washington and the University of California, Davis School of Law, Rebecca clerked for the Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of California after obtaining her J.D.  She is dedicated to advancing the dialogue on how legal frameworks can support innovation and national security objectives.
