Rockford Weitz, JD, PhD, is a Professor of Practice and Director of Maritime Studies at Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where he teaches courses on Maritime Security, Global Maritime Affairs, and Entrepreneurial Leadership. Rockford has co-founded 8 startups and served as founding CEO of CargoMetrics, a VC-backed startup that used satellite technology and data analytics to understand global trade flows in real-time. Rockford earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School, M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from The Fletcher School, and a B.A. in International Relations: Political Economy from the College of William and Mary. He is a fellow in the U.S.-Japan Leadership Program.
