
Thomas Sheehan is chair of Global Corporate & Investment Banking at BofA Securities, the institutional broker dealer business of Bank of America. In this role, he leads many of the firm’s important client relationships across the globe focusing on providing world-class strategic advisory services and innovative financial solutions.
Previously Sheehan was co-head of Global Investment Banking for seven years through September 2025. In this capacity, he was responsible for driving the strategy of the firm’s Investment Banking business and managing its day-to-day operations and personnel globally. During his tenure, the Investment Bank achieved industry leading growth in market share and a consistent top 3 industry ranking.
Sheehan joined Bank of America in 2014 as head of Global Healthcare Investment Banking based in London, where he built the business’ life sciences and international practices into market leaders. Prior to joining the firm, Sheehan spent 20 years with Morgan Stanley in London and New York, primarily focused on advising global healthcare clients.
Sheehan is a member of the Bank of America Management Committee and the Global Corporate & Investment Banking Executive Committee. He also is currently Bank of America’s Market Sponsor for the Nashville metro area and previously served on the firm’s Global Opportunity and Inclusion Council and as Market Sponsor for Indianapolis.
He graduated with honors from Washington & Lee University and received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina as a Dean’s Scholar. Sheehan is a Board Trustee of Washington & Lee University, and he has served on numerous other boards, including as a director of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in New York, a board trustee of the American School in London and a member of the Board of Visitors of the Williams School of Commerce at Washington & Lee University. He is a dual citizen of the U.S. and U.K.
